Recommended Anime of October 2013

Late post. A month has passed and things are a mess at this moment. Guess all we need is a little bit more patience and consistency, and keep on the move. Back to the topic. How do you like the new series this season so far? Do enjoy most of them and the downside is we don't really have that much time to watch them all. Some of us might simply start to watch the entire series after all the episodes are aired and that's also what I do from time to time. If you haven't checked out our full list of , may be it's time. Ok, let's just jump to the topic today.

KYOUKAI NO KANATA /

One of my favorite series of the season, though produced by Kyoto Animation is not always a sign of success. The series develops quite well and the story is decent with a mixture of exciting fighting animation and interesting daily life talk. If you are a fan of magic battle (not really though) and Kyoto style character design, this is a must watch.

NAGI NO ASUKARA /(EP26)

A nice series produced by PA.Work and the quality is somehow guaranteed. The story is interesting and the graphics and animation are a pleasure to the eyes. If you enjoy other series like , you might probably need to take a shot.

INFINITE STRATOS 2 / IS 2 (EP12)

Links: , | On Air: October 3, 2013

Guess we don't really need to talk too much about this series since most friends might hear of it. Though it might not be well known as a mecha series, it should be generally accepted as a Harem series, with somehow terrible plot or story. And have to say that after a month, 90% of the episodes are talking about Harem and fan services. Either way we have to mention it, simply because of our lovely Charlotte.

OUTBREAK COMPANY /(EP12)

Guess this will be the dream of all Otaku, well, guess we seldom use this term here on TheAkiba. The series is about bring Otaku culture to a fantasy world in a different dimension, well, you get the point. The story appears to be quite casual in the beginning, and if you somehow, happened to follow the original light novel, you will learn that there are always darkness. It's an interesting series and I do enjoy watching.

GOLDEN TIME /(EP24)

It appears to be a love comedy but all of a sudden, the spirit of our male protagonist showed up and the story goes on and on. Well, it is still a love comedy. The relationships among the five main charters are still not very clear at this point, and would love to see how the story develop.

STRIKE THE BLOOD /(EP24)

Don't know why but the story reminds me ofeven though our female protagonist is not a Tsundere and our male protagonist is not Kuroko though they do share the same interest of playing basketball. The story did not quite appeal to me in the first place, guess probably due to the background setting and all the Chuunibyo stuff. However, it turns out to be quite interesting later on when all the characters are introduced and yes, I am most interested in Natsuki Sensei.

KIKOU SHOUJO WA KIZUTSUKANAI /

The quality of the animation is great and the mix of 3D makes the fighting scene more smooth. The whole story gives us a strong feeling of darkness. The background setting is also something related to magic and Mecha, and we are more or less getting used to these themes these days.

AOKI HAGANE NO ARPEGGIO /

Guess this is not a coincidence when the series was aired during this Kantai Collection boom. The story itself is quite good though some of us might not really into the 3D production for a whole Anime series. The combination of 2D and 3D is actually quite acceptable, and the battle scene somehow reminds me of Full Metal Panic, guess both are submarines.

TOKYO RAVENS /(EP24)

One of the more traditional magic and high school story. It's quite intense and the story develops in a pleasant way, as you can normally expect from a high school school drama. The character design is something I really like. PS. Kana Hanazawa is really busy this season.

GALILEI DONNA /

Links: ,| On Air: October 10, 2013

One of the interesting original series this season. Galilei this time has nothing to do with detective, though the story does follow the line of solving problems and getting to the treasure.

OTHER INTERESTING SERIES

There are actually lots of good series this season, and most of them are interesting as a slice of life story which I somehow enjoy a lot. I would simply list some of them since reviewing each one of them would take up so much time.
